WELL Health Technologies Donates $100,000 to Support Ukrainian Children

WELL Health Technologies

In response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, WELL Health Technologies Corp. committed $100,000 to UNICEF Canada, with a $50,000 corporate donation and a donation matching program between WELL’s Team Members and WELL Health CEO Hamed Shahbazi.

WELL Health Supporting Ukrainian Children in Need

The donations will help support the 7.5 million Ukrainian children in immediate danger due to the conflict in the region. This is an urgent issue, and WELL is committed to helping in any way possible.

As Shane Sabatino, WELL’s Chief People Officer, said: “It is clear that we are witnessing a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine, especially as it relates to the most vulnerable subjects, the children caught in harm’s way. WELL Health Technologies stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and supports UNICEF’s much-needed humanitarian efforts.”

Inviting All WELL Team Members to Contribute

To maximize the impact of our donation, WELL has invited all employees, associates, and consultants to contribute to this worthy cause. With more than 2,500 team members globally, this is an opportunity for WELL to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by the crisis.

WELL’s CEO Hamed Shahbazi has also pledged to match the first $25,000 of WELL’s team members’ donations, with the goal of raising at least $100,000 in total.

We’re proud to say that WELL achieved our goal, with a total donation of over $110, 000!

Providing Mental Health Support to WELL Team Members

WELL recognizes that this crisis may also be impacting its own team members, especially those with family and friends in Ukraine. To support them, WELL is providing increased access to mental health services through Focus Mental Wellness, a pioneer in online therapy.

This ensures WELL’s employees, healthcare providers, and consultants in Canada can obtain free and timely access to therapy with a licensed practitioner in March 2022. This is an important step towards supporting the mental health of those who are affected by the crisis, including WELL team members.

Partnering With Focus Mental Wellness To Support Mental Health

In addition to our financial support, we recognized that this crisis may have also impacted our WELL team members, especially those with family and friends in Turkey and Syria.

To support our team members during this challenging time, we partnered with Focus Mental Wellness to provide fully subsidized access to therapy with a licensed practitioner for our employees, healthcare providers, consultants, and their direct families in Canada. Focus is a virtual online therapy clinic that provides secure online video, phone, and text therapy for individuals and their families struggling with mental health issues. We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and we are committed to supporting our team members in any way we can.

WELL stands with Ukraine

WELL Health Technologies stands with Ukraine during this difficult time. At WELL, we believe that people and technology can be used to positively impact health outcomes around the world

And we’re proud to put forward our best efforts to support those in need during this humanitarian crisis and to be making a difference by donating over $100,000 to support Ukrainian children and working with Canadian authorities to help those who are fleeing the conflict.
