Life at WELL with Nolan Chow
As part of our WELL Stories project, we want to share the perspectives of the talented people who contribute so much to WELL Health.
In this Q&A, we chatted with Nolan Chow, WELL’s talented Graphic Designer and all-around design expert! Let’s see what Nolan had to say about his proudest achievement and surprising lessons learned at WELL, and find out what motivates him!
What are some of your hobbies outside of work? Are you supporting any charities etc?
I’ve been really into running this year. I also enjoy camping and water skiing during the summer, and snowboarding during the winter. I’ll noodle on the guitar every now and then, too.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I remember wanting to become a Heavy Duty Mechanic or a Fireman. Professional Ice Cream Tester comes to mind as well…
Share 3 ‘Fun Facts’ about you
- I recently placed 4th overall in a Fort Langley, BC Half-Marathon
- I make a pretty good chicken pot pie
- I’ve never broken a bone in my body (knocking on wood)
Do you have any mentors in your professional life?
This is more a “What?”, but from a building’s architecture to a website’s user design interface – I find design inspiration everywhere.
Are you currently reading any books or listening to any podcasts – which ones?
I tune into “Time Crisis” on Apple Music. It’s an internet radio show about corporate food history, today’s music vs. previous eras, and a slew of other topical subjects.
What steps do you personally take to improve your mental health and wellness?
Consistent exercise. Nothing beats an early morning run to help clear the mind and jump start the day.
